Microsoft E-Mail Client Set Up Instructions

This tutorial applies to the following programs:
  1. Outlook Express Version 5
  2. Outlook Express Version 5.5
  3. Outlook Express Version 6
  4. Outlook 2000 (Non-Exchange Server Mode)

You may use any POP3 enabled e-mail client to download and read your messages. However, we only provide instructions for the most popular clients available. If your e-mail client is not listed here, please check your program's help section or the maker's website for more details on setting up your e-mail.

In addition, our support is limited to the set up of your e-mail account within the e-mail client. CTS does not offer support, either on-line or by telephone, on how to use any specific features of your program.

Please note your basic account settings:

Account Name:
your full e-mail address
Password: enter your mail password

Inbound Mail Server / POP3: mail.yourdomain.com
Outbound SMTP Server: obtain this from your ISP.

 

Step 1



 


Make Sure Outlook Express is running.

From the top tool bar, click on the word TOOLS, the select ACCOUNTS from the drop down menu. The following screen will open.

Then click on the ADD button from the upper right, and select MAIL.


 

Step 2


 


The Internet Connection Wizard will open and prompt you for a name.

! However you enter this name, this is what people will see when they receive your e-mail message as to who the message is from.



 

Step 3


Next, you will need to enter your account settings.

Your account name is your full e-mail address. Such as one of ours is support@ctsinternet.net .

Enter your password in the password box.

If you have forgotten your password, you will need to contact customer service, your local network or computer administrator, or use our on-line tools and submit a request.

Check the REMEMBER PASSWORD box, make sure Log on using a Secure Password is NOT checked and click NEXT.
 


 

Step 4


The incoming mail server is POP3.

From the Incoming Mail server, enter your domain name with "mail." before it.

Example: mail.yourdomain.com

Your outbound mail server information will need to be obtained from you dial up provider, broadband provider, or your network administrator. CTS does not provide outbound mail service.


 

Step 5


Enter your E-mail full e-mail address.


 

Step 6


That's it! You have successfully set up your new e-mail account for use.
